From the Clack House:
Clay sang MDYK with the orchestra and sounded awesome. He was wearing brown plaid pants, light blue shirt, red tie, and denim jacket with darker trim. Funky beige belt. Hair funky like it was on the interviews today. Sang first, then interview with Jay. Very funny interview. Talked a lot about Thanksgiving. Talked about the book. Jay showed video of Clay's laryngoscopy (Clay's vocal cords). Talked to Jay all during the commercial break. Kevin Spacey was already off the couch when Clat came over, so they didn't get to meet (onstage anyway).
From the Clack House:
Report from the trenches:
"Everyone looks so elegant in back. Boyfriend has tan plaid pants with a blue shirt and a red and something tie that was pretty and not a jean jacket but something that looked casual and a white belt. "
Another report from Spot and Surf4Sue: yes, there was a white belt; and his shirt was "robin's egg blue" and quite nice; there was a denim jacket with noticible stitching (but not, I was assured, anything like Captain Kangaroos denim Big Stitch jacket); and he wore a festive, multi-colored, possibly plaid tie. He commented that his pants were probably going to make people think his mother picked out his clothes this time. He talked about milk again.
Um, what else... Roger was there. Jerome too, but did not climb over anyone to confiscate anything.
Clay taped two promos, so watch NBC before the Tonight Show airs.
Jay said at the start of the show that he was going to show an "intimate" part of Clay that no one had ever seen before, a statement meant to (and succeeded in) cause mass hysteria. (it was the vocal chords)
Kevin Spacey got a lot of mileage out of saying Clay's name for the screaming and applause it induced.
From spotlightlover via GBB via a really crappy cellphone connection:
Clay was wearing 'a potpourri of plaid' and they are hoping that the way he was sitting hid the belt most of the time. *g*
He was fun and charming and sang beautifully.
Kevin Spacey said he had a complaint about the audience. That Jay introduced him and they were all very polite and clapped and then Jay said 'Clay Aiken' -- audience erupts in cheers and applause when he says it -- he says 'if I were a prosecutor I'd say "I rest my case"
Then he said he would just refer to him as 'C.A.' and later he started to talk about driving in London and said 'C--' Then looked at the audience and said "NOT C.A.' Hee.

Hair was cute from the front. He sounded perfect -- high note on MDYK was perfect. Talked about his refrigerator. Likes the glass bottles of milk. Six. Lined up in a row in the front. Rest of the house can be messy but his fridge has to be a certain way.
Jay: So what if someone takes milk and moves it?
Clay: Then they need to put it back!
She thought it seemed a little shorter than other times. But during breaks he and Jay chatted nonstop. They saw Roger, John, Nick, Jerome, Mary.
As you know, Winter and Jammin were at this evening's taping of Leno.
I just got off the phone with Winter with Jammin filling in details in the background.
Here goes. Leno begins with monologue and newspaper headlines. Kevin Spacey will be on around midnight and gets about 15-20 minutes.
Important stuff: Clay is wearing tan shoes and beige pants with big white checks. (He makes fun of the pants himself.) One saving grace for the pants---they are tight--nice buns says Jammin. Powder blue shirt with a red, green and blue plaid tie. Our man likes his colors. Oh, and a big white belt. I have to see this to believe it.
Hair same as this morning on GDL. Oh well.
He sings MDYK as expected. No flubs.
Winter says interview much too short.
Jay is very nice. Calls Clay "my buddy" and "my good friend."
Kevin Spacey plays to the Clay audience. Jay suggested he start referring to Clay as CA instead of Clay since saying "Clay" causes audience to scream.
Clay reveals he never eats leftovers...ate too many as a child Aww.
Jay shows a video of Clay's vocal cords.
That's about it. Their table was ready. Sure they will have more when they finally make it home.
