Quote:Good Morning from Salisbury, NC! I am on a "Clay Road Trip" from Georgia and stayed last night at my uncle's house here. Bless his little 82 year old heart-HE HAS A COMPUTER!!!
Love the recaps! I especially want to thank all the organizers of the BAF event at the Comfort Inn and the picnic at Carowinds. You did a great job! My favorite thing from the event is learning my new "line" to give friends when they ask if I am going to yet another Clay concert. A friend said they read this expression online and if you said it, claim it- "I NEED TO BE WITH MY OWN KIND!" Isn't that wonderful!? I love and "need" to be with my Clayfan-friends! I was welcomed to join a friend from Dover and her traveling friends at the concert and met so many "names" I recognized. Thanks to you all!
On to the main event! I have seen Clay in many different venues (big arenas, Tabernacle in Atlanta, symphony hall, etc) BUT I have NEVER seen him so happy and animated! He does love to sing to us! And he was just gorgeous-highlighted great hair, nice stubble, and those sparkling eyes! I just love the singer and dancer parts of his concerts because that is when his quick wit and spontaneity are most evident. He was just hilarious with Ethel from Detroit and the young girl who was a dancing machine! Clay asked the band to keep playing but then couldn't get them or the dancers to stop! SO funny-he just sat down, laughed and watched! The singer was just adorable-young and petite! Clay seemed to be in the "spirit" of the dancers when he made his move! (we laughed later about what must have been going on at the cellcerts-everything from ravishing her onstage to not really touching!) I haven't seen the downloads, yet, but my perspective is that he truly was continuing the "spirit" of the earlier dancers and got a little carried away! (Like I would have to be really carried away if he did that to me!!) He was sooo embarassed and yes, he so knows, he will NEVER live it down! But he can always take any experience and use it to his advantage so he copied the move on Angela later to help him win the note holding contest in YGAF!
And oh yeah, he sang pretty good, too! He was moved by the glowsticks during MOAM for sure. Thanks to the people who worked that tribute out! Think he fumbled some words of RTM but the visuals during that song were what I was mainly concentrating on!
AND then for the second half, I got to move to the second row. DID I MENTION SECOND ROW!? And I am claiming to be the lady he mentioned with binoculars on the second row but I think my friends also had them! (BUT when I tell the story at home, he was talking to me for sure!!) And Clay, I like your nose hairs! This was my first live COF and this is the best so far I believe! YWT was beyond words to describe. Does anyone want to think what "Oh Holy Night" is going to do to us at the Christmas concerts? But YWT also makes me incredibly sad because the concert is coming to an end. The roar of the crowd after TITN surprised him I think! Once again, thanks to the idea people for that tribute! And my voice has not recovered from singing Invisible as loud as I could. Solitaire was also just incredible....I need a thesarus to find some new adjectives!
I have to say this was my favorite concert ever....but I still have the two Raleigh concerts to go! How will I ever make it til Tues night to watch the clack!!?? I will probably set the new land speed record from NC to Georgia on my trip home!
Thanks again to all the fans who made this event so special and to Clay who gave me his talent and spirit...and all of you!

Quote:Hey everyone! It's Melanie from Detroit, MI Lol, whoa, I made cellcerts!!!
OK, Ill try to write the experience. I auditioned for Jerome earlier on. We cuaght him at like 5 or so.
During Kyrie, Jerome came to my row and blinked the flashlight. I'm yelling "Jerome! Jerome!" But he didnt see me an kept going. So, of course, I was freakin out. Did he just not see me? Am I not the one? Then during IWCY, he came back. I had my hand up. He grabbed my arm and says "Cmon, lets go" and pulled me out of the row. So, we went backstage. He's goes, "You didnt think I was gonna pick you did ya?" "Honestly, no, you walked right by me" He was laughing.
I didnt have any time to set stuff down. So I handed all my lights to Jerome. The backstage area is a lot of wires and it looks like the only light are from blacklights. So, Jerome handed me off to Rachel(part of the crew) who gave me the mic and showed me how to use it. Then we stood at the side of the stage waiting for my cue.
Oh...my...gosh....I thought as I went out there. I'm finally meeting Clay. He asked my name and where I was from. Then he asked if I knew Ethel and I told him no. He told me"if you see her coming down the road...run the other way." lol
I told him that wasnt very nice. He's telling me how she's so enthusiastic....she just doesnt stop...she gets carried away...Next thing I know Clay's leg is around me and he's dancing. :thud I was so shocked...but Im not complaining either.
So, he was so embarassed. Y'all couldnt see it but he was blushing. He hugged me for a really long time for that. Oh dear... I made sure to touch the Clay-tummy...NIIICE.....:tasty
So, Angela and Jacob are just cracking up...poor Clay's never gonna live it down.....he finally gets a grip and is like "OK, back to you." So, we talked about what I do in Detroit. Bd's Mongolian Barbeque....asked if I brought food. I said no. He goes," Maybe Im hungry. Maybe thats why I did that".
Then, he asked if I sing at work and I told him how my manager calls me American Idol....because I auditioned Season 2 and didnt make it. "Well, I didnt win so its ok" :bow
I mentioned how I am a musical theater major.
Clay's still crackin up about the leg thing. S'von started the song, but Clay was laughing so hard, I couldnt sing. He finally came back and Im like"Are you ready yet?" He laughs again and says "OK, yes."
So, I start to sing....when we sang in harmony, it was a dream come true. We stared right into each others eyes the whole time. Those eyes are so incredible...so green....so ....gah:thud
Oh! During the line 'No love but yours will ever do', he had switched hands so the mic was to the audience. He did the infamous "Bedroom Eyes" and pointed to me. Gah, is he TRYING to make me THUD right then and there? I am so lucky I made it through the song.
So, after the song ended, he gave me a hug....no, I didnt smell him, but he was just a tad sweaty. So there...he smelled of Claysweat.
He gave me the shirt and hugged me two more times. Then, I went off with Rachel, who took me to Jerome. I go "Jerome, you are my hero" He laughed. said thank you and hugged me. God bless Jerome's heart.
That night was such a blast. It was really a dream come true.......:thud How am I gonna survive Raleigh after that????
aka American Idol

I just got home from Charlotte, and I am just heart-broken! I've forgotten how empty and deflated it feels to go back to your hum-drum, normal life after sharing in the excitement and elation that is a Clay Aiken concert. It's so depressing! I wish I could've gone to Mecca!
But... the concert last night was aMAZING. I am no longer a NAT virgin. And let me tell you, what a raping that was. I felt sore and violted after boyfriend was done with me. Holy SHITE. *fans self*
We (me, penny and two of our CP girls) got to the venue early becoss I wanted to go and audition for Jerome. So, we were waiting around the entrance to the Carowinds theme park, and then we saw him walk out (around 5:45). So I asked him if he was auditiong singers and he said "yes" and to wait over by this payphone. So I go and wait, along with a bunch of other girls who were waiting to audition. Well, 6:00 rolls around and then all of the Carowinds employees kick us out because they had to close the park. Wtf?! So we all left, and then as soon as we did, Jerome walked back over there. We screamed for him from behind the gate and he told us to wait inside right when we got in.
So, we go and wait in the huge line to get into the venue. Meanwhile, I meet shady, YSRN, Claymaniac, julesrules, and all of my other CP friends! It was so exciting! We were all nervous about smuggling in our cameras, but I was safe because penny shoved my camera under her shirt in between her boobs, and it was hidden! Hee!
We get into the venue, I buy my Clay Aiken thong, and then wait for Jerome. And wait. And wait. Time is passing by and we're all getting freaked out that he's not coming. Finally, at 7:30, he comes and gets swarmed by people wanting to audition. I didn't even see the Melanie girl there. I don't know HOW she was able to audition at 5:00. Doesn't make sense to me. Anyway, so Jerome only has like 20 minutes to audition everyone there, so he randomly goes around pointing at various people saying "Go!" and then they give it their best. He went through a lot of people and I was still standing there, and he was like "I've only got 5 minutes left." EEK! All of a sudden, he points at me and tells me to go. So I sing, and I did pretty dang good. He says I did a good job and takes down my seat #. I was satisfied. Even though I didn't get picked, I'm just happy that I got to AUDITION, because I was almost afraid I wasn't going to get to.
The concert started like 15 minutes after that. Penny and I braced ourselves for our debacling. We were 15th row, but I had my binocs so I could see all of Clay's pretty facial expressions. I don't know how people can remember specific details after seeing Clay Aiken in concert. My brain just goes to mush the second that boy walks out on stage. I was SO pumped when he came out for WTSHNN, I swear I was going to explode. He was just loving the attention. And he did the DRIVING MOVE!!! EEE! It was orgasmic! As soon as he did it, the crowd just erupted in EEE! Then he got this smirk on his face like "yeah, I know what you like!"
So... gah, I'm trying to think of details and my mind is drawing a blank. Has anyone found out what the "dirty sign that he wouldn't comment on" said? I would love to know! Because he usually talks about what they say...
The WYSYLM dancing was HILARIOUS! I've never heard of this Ethel person before, so I was just dying! And the little girl he picked? BWAH! She did not care about being on that stage with Clay at ALL! She just danced her little heart out! Clay kept trying to put the lei on her and she wouldn't stop her moves! Finally Clay lei'd her, and then she just went back on to dancing! The song went on FOREVER! bwah! I guess Clay kept trying to cue to the band to stop the song, and they wouldn't. So finally he yelled out "STOP!" and they finished it! LMFAO!!! It was soooo funny. So then he had Jacob start the next song because apparently the band wasn't following his cues. hee!
The dancing in Kyrie was unbelievably cute. I love when Clay breaks it down. How the hell can he say that he can't dance? Is he KIDDING me?! Of course after he stopped, Jacob got down. He just annoys me. I was LMAO when Clay was talking about what everyone did on their breaks, because when he turned to ask Jacob, he was like "Jacob, did you enjoy yourself?" And then in a lower voice he was like "I'm sure you did..." BWAH! I turned to penny and was like "Did you hear what he just said?!" I wonder if Jacob ever gets annoyed with Clay joking about his "nastiness?" Not that I care. But then Jacob is like "I wrote music." That just kind of got on my nerves for some reason. Almost like he was trying to show off, on CLAY'S tour, that he's a "real" musician because he writes his own songs. Humph. Maybe I'm just reading too much into it. whatevah.
Clay was certainly a FRISKY fellow last night. I don't know WHAT got into him! When he jumped on that lucky bitch from Detroit, I practically had a heart attack. Of course the first thing I thought was, "Dammit! If Jerome had picked me, *I* would be getting humped by Clay!" It was so spontaneous and off the wall! The crowd just LOVED it. I can now visualize what it would be like to see Clay hump someone! Bwah! Then his little "Lord, I hope she was 18" line just did me in. And then he mentioned about it being up on the internet for everyone to see! HA! Little did he know how SOON it'd be up!
YGAF was just great. I was watching through my binocs the whole time, and noticed Clay giving Angela all of these quirky looks before the note holding contest began. It was HILARIOUS watching them all trying to hold onto those notes! Then all of a sudden, Clay turns around and humps on Angela!!! This time I literally fell onto the floor. Penny and I had to hold each other up. We couldn't believe our eyes. What got INTO him??! (or... what did HE get into?! *g*) It was incredible. He was on fire! Of course he triumphed on the contest, and then stood out in front of everyone and held his arms out like "I won!" Bwah! I love him.
And THEN- he went RIGHT into MOAM! How does he do that?! He goes from being a sex-crazed horndog on Angela, right into this serene, peacful ballad on a stool. OMG! The man never ceases to amaze me. How does he shift from one mood to a completely opposite one in the blink of an eye? He's such a freaking pro, it blows my mind. I had no idea that all of the "claymates" had the glowstick idea for MOAM. It was very touching to see. Since penny and I were clueless, she just held up her lighter to join in with the crowd! Hee!
The 2nd half went by entirely too fast. STO was on FIRE! Does he always do that little backwards dancing move on the one foot thing?! DAMN! He is so freaking hot! It was so funny right when he started ISY... because as soon as the opening notes started, everyone in the crowd around us made this little "ummfff" noise, and readied themselves for what was to come! Bwah! I turned to Penny and was like "I think everyone just started ovulating right now." I watched boyfriend's hands through my binoculars... and they just had a mind of their own. They are mesmerizing. His facial expressions were just gah. His growls were just guh. It was wonderful. He used me and abused me with that song. No apologies. And I don't care.
COF was AWESOME! Yes, I was secretly hoping for some SSD so I could hear the lethal "F" in person, but this was a decent second choice! Clay gets SO INTO this song! wow!!! He was growling all over the damn place! Where the hell does that come from?! And that bending dance move to the floor that he does with Angela? He is so BENDY! Ohmahgah... think of the things that he could do... *dies*
Rosanna will always be one of my favorite songs. The dance move he did with Jacob was priceless! Have y'all seen it on the downloads yet? He kind of shuffled to the side, and moved his microphone along to the side that he was going to. He did that while Jacob did it with his sax. It was really cute. Like I said before, WHY does Clay think he can't dance?! Boy is a dancin' machine, yo!
I finally got to see YWT live. I can't even express what that song did to me. I locked my binocs on Clay's face for the entire song. I wanted to be able to experience with him what he was experiencing up there. I got sucked in. I could feel the love and joy flowing from Clay as he performed that song. It was so soft, yet so strong at the same time. I feel so blessed that Clay trusts me enough to be able to share that moment with me. It felt as if I was intruding on this incredibly personal moment that he was having with God. It was unreal. I had to hold myself up after witnessing it. It was that powerful. No words. none.
The rest of the show was great, of course. I love watching how gleeful Clay becomes when Invisible comes on. Especially when he holds the mic out for us to sing... the smile on his face is unforgettable. He really does love us, y'all! And then there was Solitaire... So, so pretty. Yes, he messed up with words, and had a little note crack here and there, but all in all... it was wonderful. The glowsticks made a pretty effect, too. The glory note raped me, of course. I've heard Clay sing that note so many times, but each time is just... so brand new. I still ask myself "Where does that voice COME from?!" I felt so proud watching him take his bow. His way of saying "thank you" to us for supporting him through everything. Gah. I will support him through ANYTHING! I love that man so damn much.
I could not breathe after the show was over. I could not move. penny and I collapsed into our seats, with our legs sprawled out onto the chairs in front of us, and just laid there. How do you spent 3 intimate hours with Clay Aiken, and then return to normal life? I was immobile. Completely, and utterly spent. Emotionally exhausted. I needed to just lay still and continue to let the splendor of the Aiken absorb me. Finally the security guards kicked us out. Yeah, we needed to leave sometime... as sad as it is.
The Afterglow party was tons of fun! Thank you NSST for putting it all together! It was fabulous! I drank many a Cinnamon Treasure Trail... mmm, those things were damn good! I asked the bartender if he knew about them (the sign said to ask him!) but he had no clue. Then I noticed that his last name was "Nix!" What! I asked him if he was related to anyone named Amber. heh. He said that he wasn't. Dayum. *thisclose* to a Clay connection, yo. Ah well!
I don't remember all of the meers that I finally got to meet, but I do remember talking with InNotOf, momo, jemock, lyric, hockeydonna, spotlightlover, etc., and of course shady, YSRN, CinPA, jules, and I got to meet the rest of the PA Posse, yactleef, and winky! It was tons of fun. Good drinks. Good mingling. Fun games! I now have pretty Clay magnets that I can stick all over my fridge because I was fortunate enough to have an October birthday! I remember standing over in the corner of the room, then I hear this loud mix of "OhmyGODS!" and "EEE!s" and screams, and realize that everyone is huddled around watching Clay, the humpmaster! So I ran over and got in on the action. Bwah! Not only is it great to witness Clay being a horny animal on stage, but its a completely other thing to share it with a ton of meers at the same time! hee!
Anyway... I need to wrap this damn thing up. I left this morning and am now, sadly, back in CA. A man that I was sitting next to on the plane noticed my plethora of Clay Aiken CDs, and was like "So, I take it that you wanted Clay to win on American Idol?" I was thinking in my mind, "Whoa, buddy, you have no idea what kind of conversation you just got yourself into!" So then we chatted about Clay for like an hour. He said that he really likes Clay's voice- he remembered how "goofy" he first looked on AI, and then couldn't believe it when Clay started to sing! I was telling him about all of Clay's success and his tours, and the guy was like "Do his concerts even sell out?" I told him about the Raleigh drama, and he could not believe that they both sold out so fast. He was very much impressed. Yeah!
Okay, my fingers are about to fall off now. Thanks for reading this, if you did! And to everyone going to Mecca- I am SO JEALOUS of each and every one of you! I would go back to North Carolina in a heartbeat if I could. Damn real life responsibilites! *pouts*
This was one of the best weekends in my life, and I would not take it back for the world. I love being a Clay Aiken fan, and I just love, love, LOVE Clay Aiken!!!
*muah* to all.

Quote: Hi everyone!
I haven't had a chance to read everyone's review yet, so I apologize if I'm repeating what other people have already reported. I can't wait to read it all when I have a few more free moments.
First of all, let me say that I just love hearing Clay laugh. It's contagious, isn't it? I'm sure you've heard about the two dancers who were chosen to go up on stage. Let me tell you...they "shook their thang" and definitely weren't shy!!!!! Clay just cracked up when he couldn't get them or the musicians to stop. Eventually, he just leaned up against part of the set, making a gesture to indicate that he had lost control of the situation (in a joking way.) VERY CUTE!!!
My seats were pretty far back which was kind of a bummer, but one thing that was wonderful about being so far back was having a great view of the whole arena when everyone lifted their lights during MOAM. It was BEAUTIFUL!!!! I would imagine that Clay was touched by the gesture and the beauty of the moment!!!
Clay gave his all as always. I was just so glad to be there to hear him live again!!!!! I have to say...I wish they had Jumbotrons at Carowinds!! There were two fairly small screens up on the set, but no big Jumbotron screens. Even from where I was, I could tell that he was LOOKIN' MIGHTY FINE!!! And I love the confidence that he show in his demeanor. It's great because it isn't cockiness...just confidence. There is such a difference, right ladies??????
One thing that was new for me was hearing COF live. He didn't perform that one in Greensboro this summer. I had watched it on-line, but hearing it in person was such fun. I love the way he and Quiana really WORK THAT SONG!! I continue to be so impressed with Clay's back-up singers. Of course he would only choose high quality singers!!!!
Clay did various dance steps throughout his performance, which, of course, was fun and sexy!!!! At one point, he did a backwards move across the stage while playing air guitar. I think I might have fallen down, and was a little afraid that he would, but he did great.
Oh, good job to the singer!!!!! (I'm sorry, I forgot your name.) She and Clay had a nice blend, I thought, and she seemed really sweet. She got at least two hugs, which I'm sure she will cherish!!
I didn't get to participate in all the special events that were organized. I wish I could have, but the friend I was with and I were only able to arrive a little before the concert. Thanks, though, to eveyone who worked so hard. I met some nice fellow Clay fans in various lines and, I have to say, Clay fans are truly a special group of people. Everyone give yourself a big hug!!:bighug
Hope this helped you feel a little more like you were there!!!! Clay is truly a gifted, gifted person!!! Long live his music career!!!!!!!

Quote: Got back from Charlotte a couple of hours ago. It was a great concert, just wish I could have gone on to Raleigh too.
Melanie I loved your post. Clay was just incredible last night. I don't think I've ever seen him laugh so much on the stage.
I just want to mention the lady in the hula outfit. I think between her and the dancers on stage, they really oput Clay in his silly mood. I wish I knew the name of the hula lady, but she was talking to a few of us before the concert, showing us her two signs and asking which she should use. We encouraged her to go up to the front for the dance. I noticed Nick at the front at that point and we told her she should go up to him, which she did. After she came back, she mentioned how 2 years earlier she weighed 300 pounds. Hope there are some pictures of her, but she looked fantastic. We were rooting for her, and I'm glad she had that hilarious interaction with Clay, even though she didn't get up on the stage.
Saw Amber in the audience. She was with an adorable little blond curly haired little girl. We speculated that it might be a niece. She was in the center section about 15 rows back. I noticed after the intermission she was gone.
It was so nice meeting such wonderful fans. Two great ladies sitting in front of me at the concert offered my friend and I free seats for Raleigh. It really pained us that we had to turn them down. One of the women, even offered to share her room with us there. The other woman was with her husband. She was cute, she said she tells people her husband is taking her to see her "boyfriend" I believe these ladies came from Wisconsin and Illinois. Went to the party at the Comfort Inn and the picnic.I talked to some really nice Charlotte clayfans , they were really gracious hostesses. We got to meet Diane Bubel--what a lovely lady. I met so many nice fans--it was terrific. There was a group of Nebraska clayfans that drove over 20 hours to get there. Met several people from the west coast. Clay truly is blessed to have such dedicated fans. others
I hadn't read about the glowstick plan last week. We were fortunate to sit next to Clayniac2 who offered my friend and I glow sticks. We were 15 rows back in the A section, and I really impressed how many in the audience had glow sticks, which everyone waved during MOAM and Solitaire.
It was just such a joy to finally be able to see Clay perform in his homestate. You could see how incredibly pumped he was to be there. He was funny, fantastic and adorable. Hadn't felt well all week and had debated making the trip, I'm so glad I did. We drove 16 hours round trip ( a short trip compared to others) but it was so worth it.

Quote:It will be difficult to explain all the details of the concert and my emotions that I am feeling in my tired state of mind, but I will give it a try. Although I don't personally have a lot of concert experience, I believe Clay's performance at Charlotte was explosive and like no other. The energy from the crowd was amazing and everyone was totally hyped up. The concert started a little late and the crowd was getting restless. When Clay finally emerged from the mothership, the entire place exploded and again when he did his "driving move" . He was gorgeous with his new, very blonde highlights, in his best spirits, refreshed, very happy to be home in NC, energetic, sometimes giddy, hilarious, endearing, velvety smooth singing voice, cute southern accent, bouncing and dancing all over the stage, growly, sexy, smoking HOT, and his genuine feelings for his band members and fans were evident. There were no jumbotrons at this venue and I'm sure everyone there had their own perspective of Clay's gestures and moves depending on where they were seated.
Clay announced some of the people he knew who were in the audience. His college professor was there who helped him graduate and he said, "Thanks for that". He also mentioned Diane Bubel was there from TBAF and some of his college friends. Quiana also had family in the audience and she really sang and performed at her very best. When the lights were turned up, Clay read some signs and commented more than once that they were "dirty" and "definitely dirty". LOL He wanted to keep it a family friendly show. A lady near the front I believe had on a hula skirt and Clay Aiken thong. When she tried to show him her thong, he turned away and made a comment about he shouldn't have asked any questions. Someone had a sign that said "Clay Who? I love Danny." Clay said Danny probably paid her and when Danny nodded yes, Clay made some comment about that was good as he was getting worried. (As if he would ever have to worry about the way his devoted fans really feel about him). I was sitting near the back and really couldn't tell for sure what all was going on in the front. I'm sure others will have more details on all of this and probably a lot more descriptive.
Clay brought up two young girls to dance and both were totally enthusiastic dancing machines and very good. One of the girls, Ethel, was from a previous concert, although I was drawing a blank as to ever remembering anything about her. Clay was really into watching them and asked the band to keep playing, but then couldn't stop them when he motioned for them to. He finally gave up and just laughed and watched, but afterwards he went though his arm and hand gestures again to remind Jacob what they meant and informed him they were supposed to stop playing!
Clay's interaction with the young singer, Melanie from Detroit, and his "leg wrapped around her" was hilarious and just priceless!! The entire audience was in an uproar of screams and laughter. I think that Clay was still hyped up about the dancers and just continued on with the mood he was feeling and in his own way, trying to illustrate Ethel's moves. His leg antic was spontanious and I think he even surprised himself with that move. He genuinely seemed to be embarrassed about what he had done. He said "he would probably never live that down" and I'm sure he's right about that! LOL He gave the girl a hug right afterwards as if to cover his embarrassment. She was a good sport (as if she would really mind) and told him it was OK. Clay was laughing so hard it was difficult for him to regain his composure and start singing along with her. I don't remember if it was after this or some other time during the concert, but Clay mentioned that the videos would probably soon be out on the internet! I wonder how many he really watches or if his friends just tell him about them.
Clay's performance of ISY was a crowd pleaser, as usual, full of angst, growls, and hand and arm motions. I don't know how Clay could ever perfect this song any more than what he already has, but I would love to see him continue to perform this in future concerts.
Clay's abundance of soulful growls, gestures, and dancing during Chain of Fools was immensely sexy, SMOLDERING HOT and one for the record books!!! I could definitely feel this song throughout my entire body as he was performing. The long ago vision of the sweet innocence of the boy I watched on AI2 was replaced by a very happy, self-confident, sensual, professional young man with every endearing quality about him still intact.
Clay also demonstrated his dancing skills during STO with the backwards dance across the stage and "getting down" to the floor with Angela. That man has rhythm and CAN dance, no matter what he says about his lack of dancing abilities. (Yeah, right Clay!) He also performed his moves and air instrumentation during Rosanna. Jacob and Derek had a skit about throwing the drum stick and Jacob was to catch it. It didn't work the first time, so Clay had them try again.
During YGAF and the note holding contest, Clay intentionally wrapped his leg against Angela to throw them off. Jacob cracked up and, of course, OMC won and looked very pleased with himself! (You know the expression I'm talking about) LOL
During MOAM a large portion of the audience held up green glow lights as a tribute. The lights were beautiful in the dark night and I think from Clay's expression he was touched by the showering of love that was displayed for him.
Another highlight for me was to see him perform RTM for the first time. He was awesome and the mic action was thrilling.
I won't comment on each song as you know them all so well. Each one was special in it's own way.
Clay looked and sounded like I would picture an angel in white as he performed YWT. I know these words have been said before, but it is such a hauntingly beautiful song and the back up singers voices mesh so well together. I was totally mesmerized with his performance.
Clay again genuinely thanked his fans before performing Invisible. He also made a snarky comment about the local radio station not playing his song. I thought to myself, good for him for getting his point across.
As the evening went on, Clay began losing his speaking voice. I was worried for him that he wouldn't be able to perform Solitaire and hit the glory note. I had no need to worry as he nailed the entire song as usual and gave it his all. He is such a professional! He gave two bows at the end of his performance with his endearing look of gratitude and waived. I took a deep sigh, hugged my girlfriend that I was with, and definitely was not ready for him to leave the stage.
I had not really noticed the breezy, cold air until I walked away from the concert. It's amazing how Clay in concert can keep you warm even without physically touching you. Even if I were to have the ways and means to attend each of Clay's concerts, I think I would always leave feeling temporarily fulfilled and yet longing for more of this young man that I have grown to love, admire and respect so very much. I am already experiencing Clay concert withdrawal and wondering when will I be able to see him again.
I was saddened about not having the chance to meet up with any of the other CDB members, but hopefully I will get another opportunity. (So close, but yet so far.)
Seeing Clay in concert at Charlotte in his home state was a lifetime experience and a dream come true for me and something that I will always treasure close to my heart. I can only image what the fortunate Raleigh concert attendees will experience if Charlotte was a just a preview of what is to come.
I am still very tired from traveling and haven't taken the time to get caught up on the board or read other recaps. I'm still in somewhat of a daze and originally thought it was Sunday instead of Monday when I first woke up. I have probably already missed the Raleigh cellcert. I apologize if I am repeating what others have said, but I was just anxious to share this experience with you all and hope in some small way you could feel like you were there also.

Back to earth from the Clay haze I have been I the last 3 days. I wasnt able to go to any of the get-togethers as family attended most of the events with me since they were local, and I turned into the chauffer at the stroke of midnight, NOT Cinderella. Those Disney stories never get it quite right.
Anyway, back to the Charlotte concert. Carowinds is not my favorite Amusement Park, but the concert there is my favorite. We were there during the sound check and could see Clay talking into his cell phone for a long time. Daughter-in-law, who is not a fan, still used her new high dollar digital to snap a few shots that I havent seen yet.
After leaving the park at 6 and driving around in a circle for 2 miles (this took an hour) we arrived back at he venue to find our seats were right behind the big ass camera. One of the ladies beside of us complained and the park people upgraded our row to B-18, which proved to be just right. The strip search on re-entry was lots of fun too, but wasnt as thorough as the one to get into the park earlier that day.
I got to sit beside of some great fans, one that rode to the concert with Queen P. Made the concert so much fun as we shared our EEEE!s for each new hump that occurred. Boy was frisky. Such a fun show and such a fun crowd. Voice wasnt perfect, and I especially enjoyed the improvisational act he did with several of the song lyrics. Seems like at least 3 of the songs had special versions, just for this performance. But he never missed a beat, just kept right on singing, and most of the people probably dont know every word by heart.
In all though, the very gladness to be back in front of the audience seemed to radiate from Clay. He played it to the max, and I think this is my favorite show simply because he seemed to enjoy giving it as much as we enjoyed seeing it. Such a mutual love fest.
Back home on Sunday after a long stop at the Concord Mills shopping hell, just in time to meet daughter at the fairgrounds @ 6PM for the Kim Locke concert.

Quote:Ok, where do I begin.....I really don't think that I need to bore you all with a lot of words since thank the heavens above that there is Clack that explains everything! LOL
I will say that the leg wrap started at the Dayton concert. I was trying to get picked to go on stage. I was dancing at the railing near my seat in the first level from the floor, I kept hoisting up my leg on the railing trying to get some attention. I did not get picked. When Clay sang Invisible, I was at that railing again hoisting up my leg dancing and when he looked and saw me dancing crazy like that he started to giggle and he did his "classic Clay thing" of putting his head down while still giggling.
BELIEVE me I was very SURPRISED that Clay remembered me doing that!
As I stated before I will not bore you with a lot of things about the concert that you may already know.
I will state for the record that during the "dance off" between the "MUCH YOUNGER" dancer and me, lol when I went and sat down on the steps to the Mothership let me tell you all...I WAS TIRED. lol I did some dance moves while sitting down just to make it seem like I was trying to win the dang contest! Believe me..I JUST WANTED IT TO BE OVER!! lol It was dang hot up there on stage and um I am NOT as young as I once was! LOL
I guess we should now refer to what Clay did with the singer as "Legwrapgate" LOL I guess Clay was just in "the moment" and we all know how chatty he can be so therefore the only way the man could explain my behavior was to DEMONSTRATE it! Ahh ONCE a teacher ALWAYS a teacher. Dang Clay WHAT A VISUAL AID! lol
The rest of the concert as always was Clay, Angela, Quiana,Jacob and the band at their VERY BEST. We who "get Clay" are sooo lucky to have an artist like him that we can truly enjoy to the highest.
RCA Board...we represented well Whoo-Hooo. KCgirl/Shannon, PlayAiken Tracy formally (TraysClay) Kelly from Texas were the best roomies!
I almost had a "Clay bad experience with keys ordeal" lol
I used PlayAiken's vehicle to run an errand right before I left for the airport to make my 6:00am flight back to Dayton (What the heck was I thinking booking a flight that early lol) Pamlistens along with Hey_Butterfly took me to the airport. Tearful good-byes were said. Mind you it's about 3:15am when Pamlistens and Hey_Butterfly drop me off. Around 4:00am something tells me to put my hand in my pocket.... OMG!!! I HAVE PLAYAIKEN'S CAR KEYS!! I JUST ABOUT FAINTED!!
All I could think of was how could such a fun filled weekend END like this? I IMMEDIATELY called KCgirl/Shannon ....I did not have PlayAiken's celly# KCgirl/Shannon sleeps VERY soundly but I thought that if I called her celly 100 times it would wake her....um noooo that did not happen! LOL Time is not getting critical BUT my nerves were about shot! The people at the airport would not keep the keys until someone could come and get them for PlayAiken! Finally my brain starts to function. I called the front desk of the hotel in order for them to ring the room. Tracy girl you are the best! She answered the phone and bless you honey for being able to decipher what I was babbling about. All I kept saying for about 5 minutes was "keys Georgia, keys, this is just like what Clay did"... Tracy finally calmed me down enough to get the story straight and by then PlayAiken was awake. Keys were picked up.... tearful good-by's were said AGAIN lol, I got on my flight back to Dayton with wonderful memories of some of the best days I have ever had so far!
I would be very remiss if I did not mention Carocross,Agray99,and Pmerlo. You ladies are simply the best. It was so hard to say good-by to you as well.
I was very honored to meet our Mods in person. Please don't worry Iamesmerized I am not planning to "jump ship"! LOL
Please, please if I did not mention your name, blame my numerous glasses of North Carolina Sweet Tea (that stuff is ding-dang good!) fried pickles an

Quote:Charlotte recap, or, Clay can make you forget physical pain⦠Scrolling is advised if you donât like long assed recaps, or some possible TMI.
The adventure started at 3:45 a.m. Saturday morning, to catch a flight from central Illinois. Ugh â the things Iâll do for Clay. Arrived in Charlotte at 11:30 a.m., and there was the lovely daisybumble at the gate, waiting for me. (MUAH to her!) We then proceeded to collect our silver Mustang convertible and drive to the hotel. (Note to hotel: make your driveway look like a driveway, not a sidewalk). Waiting outside the hotel were my roomies for the night, PQ (who has a beautiful grandchild, BTW) and goatlady (she of the ultimate laptop computer), as well as good friends bryher93 and noguru. Soon I met up with the final roommate, Spiff, and had a grand time catching up with each other and the board. (Sounds like the pity party had a good attendance). MUAH to my roommates!
Preconcert dinner â InNotOf did a great job of organizing. The food at Bucaâs is great. Meeting new meerkats was even better. Iâm very glad we went around and introduced ourselves...made matching names and faces together so much moâ better. *waves to all the preconcert meerkats*
I rode to the concert with PQ, goatlady, Spiff and calliek, who is my new best friend because wewerethiscloseinthebackseat. Met up with CynicalOne and friends there. Entering the concert, I make the mistake of getting in the line with the security bitch who searched my bag with a freakinâ flashlight. Iâm also not a good liar (Clay would love me for that, haha), so I didnât try to enter another line, and went back to the car with the camera. I wasnât happy, but I also knew there were enough others there who would get clack.
Meanwhile, my stomach also decides to start acting funky â pain. (I have this from time to time...not much to do with it except lie down â like I could lie down in the aisle, hee). Therefore, between that and having no camera, my joy at watching Clay was a bit tempered (more on that later).
Sat with two ladies from California who had supposedly downloaded all kinds of stuff, but had not seen a NAT before. I questioned in my head, though, how connected to the internet world they really were when they asked me the following questions during the show: 1) I said I was from the Clack House. Their question: what is clack? 2) During SBJ, they said, "we've never heard him sing this before." *shrug* While they were very nice ladies, I would have much rather been with another meerkat.
The concert: Clay looked and sounded marvelous, IMO. His hair had the blond highlights, and I surprised myself by actually liking it. The man was in giddy mode...literally jumping up and down like a 12 year old a few times. (Hey, I'm 12 too...maybe we could kiss and exchange cooties or something...)
WTSHNN -- driving move! Yay! There was also a new move with his fingers that is just impossible to explain. Gah!
The dancers were a stitch -- definitely attention grabbing. (How many times has Ethel seen Clay?) What I loved, though, was Clay telling the band to keep going, and then it turned into a Grateful Dead jam session. Clay could NOT get the band to stop, and had to literally say âSTOP!â I was watching him try to use hand movements to cut them off, and I knew it wasnât going to work. Didnât stop me from laughing, though.
The singer bit -- OMG, Clay was horny. No question about it... I unfortunately, missed the dry humping though, as my stomach decided to make me sit down for a bit right at that moment. But from what I saw later...yeah, the man is horny. Angela is lucky to be the recipient of the second hump of the evening.
MOAM -- made me cry. Sorry, Corabeth, but I thought the glowsticks were kinda pretty. At least they were noticeable, as compared to some other projects *coughredblinkyheartsonRHTcough* Maybe I was impressed because it was spontaneous to me.
Every single song was memorable in some way IMO. RTM â the lighting is so dramatic, and I canât stop watching his furry arms. COF â crouch! Growl! ISY â âticked off" Clay is definitely a highlight. YWT â vocally outstanding.
I loved watching Rosanna, and the interaction between Clay and Jacob. The dance move that Jacob was having him do (watch LightninSkirtâs clip to see what I mean) was funny, and so cute. I sense a brotherly rivalry between them â they may not be the best of friends, but I see some warmth coming through their stage shenanigans. JMO.
I ended crying again once more â during freakin' Invisible! I thought I would be so exhausted of this song by nowâ¦but watching his face and the joy that shows through it, it just makes me so proud of him. I think he will never tire of that song, and will always grin his way through it. So will I. (Iâll also remember his rather pointed snark on the local radio station. Gotta love a guy who knows how to stick it to the asshats.)
The only problem I had with Solitaire was with the 5 "I love you Clay" fans that were standing near me. Just shut up and let the man pour his heart out to us, will you?
During the intermission, I was honored to meet SecretlyLovesClay and to talk again with LightninSkirt and jojoct. It was a regular clack providerâs convention. Iâll need to talk to them again before the JNTâ¦
I saw John (with groupies) and Nick. Didnât see Amber. Oh wellâ¦
After the concert, I was ready to leave the Carowinds with daisybumble and DonnaAllCity, only to realize I left my jacket at the theater. The combination of joy from Clay, pain in my stomach, and forgetfulness almost made me cry again. Once leaving, I stretched out in the back of the convertible (those who know me know how funny this must have looked â a 5â11â person sprawled in a 3â space) to try and make my tummy feel better. Surprisingly, it helped.
The Afterglow party was loud but wonderful. NSST did a fantastic job with this party. Loved the nametag made for me by Fountaindawg. There were so many people I finally got to meet â spotlightlover, couchtomato, Corabeth, SkateJoy, hockeydonna, Jude, kimiye, newland, calliek, and too many others to even mention *waves to the unmentioned so they donât feel badly*. Also, the friends I've seen recently (bryher, Pink Armchair, Beagle3, Snix, hensey) and not so recently (HeidiHo, huskerfalcon, DonnaAllCity, Ficus, CAP, buzztechie, brandi, Tasapio, Deborah760, MrsLoki, Tortoro, geekette). Had a drive-by hug from ebird at the party â sorry I couldnât be at the pig pickinâ. Looks like yâall had a wonderful time.
The breakfast room the next morning at the Comfort Inn was filled with CHers recapping their experiences from the previous evening. Itâs amazing how so many were up and semi-alert at 8:00 a.m. Again, the things we do for Clay. Too soon, my adventure ended as daisybumble and I said goodbye at the Charlotte Airport.
Iâd do it all againâ¦except for the tummy pain. Aw hell, for Clay, Iâd even suffer through the tummy pain.

Damn was he ON IN ChARLOTTE! He was frickin adorable, snarly, sexy and just so on with his comedic timing and not to mention busting these new HOT dancing moves on us.
He was so at ease on stage last night and you could tell he was having a blast up there. And yes the little @#%$ loves to tease the hell out of us. Mr. I can't dance but I can lift my leg up on ya and give ya the Aiken Hump. His shimmy in COF ahh....and his new slide and glide move in Rosanna with Jacob is so adorable. And the way he held his mic sideways why he did it..so Clayish!! You will watch it over and over! GAWD Can I love him anymore than I do right NOW after seeing him last night????
His hair looked gorgeous to me last night. New blond highlights and it was so spikey yet still looked soft. I just wanted to run up on stage and grab me a handful of Clay hair. It looked so grabbable!
WTSHNN was on fire. His dancing moves and his steering the car move..eeeeee to die for!
Both ISY and YWT to me were more intense than in the last few concerts I had seen. Major hand jestering in both, the most I had ever seen for YWT. Both were incredible performances!
MOAM: He seemed very touched when he looked out and saw all the lights. A good portion of the crowd had glowsticks that everyone held up during the entire song and it really was quite beautiful, he was moved and instead of closing his eyes when singing for some parts as he normally does he was looking at the crowd.
Invisible: Got a great shirt tug during it! Loved before he sang Invisible he gave some snark to Kiss 95.1--stating Even though Kiss 95.1 won't play it--this is for you!
The arenas acustics were good for me from where I was sitting but even though I had decent seats I did miss that there were no venue jumbotron screens, especially for Solitare.

Quote:First of all let me just say I had a b l a s t!!!! I love NC, always have. The people are some of the most friendly and gracious folks out there. Clay wasnât joking when he said NC State fair would put some of the others to shame. Amazing! Itâs HUGE! Goatlady, Brandi and I got lost leaving last night and wandered around for quite awhile trying to figure out where the heck we came in at. Food stands everywhere you looked. I was pretty good though, only ate a Philly Cheesesteak sandwich and a big ol funnel cake with apples. I want to let Couchtomato know that my waistline thanks her for sharing it with me!
Goatlady and I started out in the wee wee hours of the morning. We made excellent time as we pretty much had the highways to ourselves for most of the drive. We were disappointed to find that TM was not offering any good tickets that day, so we made a trip to Carowinds to try to score better seats. No luck, they were offering worse seats than we had.
We went to Bucaâs and had a great dinner and wonderful time with the Chers. FountainDawgs name tags were gorgeous. CynicalOne and I finally got to share our birthday drink. And all too soon it was time to head to Carowinds for the concert. Thanks to InNotOf for organizingâ¦good job!
We did end up upgrading from Sec. A row 39 to Sec. C row 20 but ended up sitting in row 19 cause there were two empty seats there and the person sitting next to me was Wendy Wood, Clayâs academic advisor at UNC. What a nice lady. I really enjoyed chatting with her before the concert and then during the concert it was really neat to see her reaction. If I recall correctly she hadnât seen him in concert since the IT tour and she was very impressed with his confidence on stage and the overall growth of his performance. She was with her mother (another sweet Southern belle) and though they try to keep up with what is happening with Clay they were slightly out of the loop. They knew about the Christmas CD, but not the JNT or the NBC compilation at Target. They had not heard MDYK so they were excited to out and buy that CD to get a listen. I didnât have a CNN card to share with them, but I did get her email address and will hook her up. She was moved to tears several times during the concert and moved to belly laughs more than a few times as well. No, she did not fall on the ground in mortification when Clay got a wee bit frisky with the singer, she actually shook her head and said âThat boy is just full of himselfâ. It was pretty funny. Clay introduced her during one of his chatter sessions during the concert and as the concert was ending Jerome surprised her by coming to get her and her mother to take them backstage because Clay wanted to say hi. She didnât gossip about Clay but she did share that he was a good student, loved working with kids who had disabilities, she said he had a natural knack for connecting with them. She told me she was very proud of him and very happy for him. Enough about that.
I LOVED this concert! I really think it was the best one I have attended. The best. He was fantastic. His voice was a little rough in spots but he blew me away in so many ways. I last saw him in Clio and I donât have a clue what happened between then and Charlotte but DAYUM he seemed much more confident. That isnât a great explanation of what I felt watching him but he seemed so relaxed and happy and he was enjoying himself so much. Maybe the singer had a little something to do with it I donât know *g* I laughed and I cried at this like I never have at any of the others Iâve attended. The songs seemed to touch my heart in ways they never have before. MoAM completely undid meâ¦I have been very vocal of my blinky light hateâ¦but that was the most awesome display Iâve ever seen. Clay was clearly touched. Made me wish *I* had one! Now thatâs saying something!! YWT made me cryâ¦unreal. I donât hate YWT but I certainly am not a lover of the song. However, it did something to me Saturday night. TITN, waterworks again. Invisibleâ¦frickinâ Invisible made me cry! Solitaireâ¦blubbering, runny nose mess! I was emotionally spent by the time the lights came up. I donât think I wouldâve made it if the concert had lasted much longer. I felt truly blessed to be a Clay Aiken fan that night.

Quote:My mom, my sister, and I got to Charlotte around 5 o'clock Friday. We stayed at the Comfort Inn at Carowinds. We met so many Clay fans there; the hotel was full of them. It was completely sold out, we were lucky to even get a room. The party at the Comfort Inn was really nice, we saw Diane Bubel (I've met her a few times before), she is really nice. There were a lot of people at the party, probably around 150-200. Around 4, we headed over to Carowinds. First, we went to the box office to pick up our meet and greet passes but they weren't there yet. They told us to come back in an hour or so. So we went to the Clay picnic and ate. I couldn't believe how many people were there, probably around 500 or more. That was really neat seeing so many Clay fans there. A few people said hi to me and said they had seen my pictures with Clay on the internet before. After we ate, we went back to the box office, and finally got our meet and greet passes. Around 6, Jerome led all the meet and greet people to a back area of the park. We were waiting outside this building for about 20 minutes before he came back. Finally, he came back and led everyone inside the building. Everyone was waiting inside the room for Clay to come. I was so excited but I told myself I was going to be calmer this time. Every time I go to the meet and greets, I always like get so nervous and excited and never remember it. So this time I was going to try to be calmer. There were quite a few people at the meet and greet this time and more people kept coming. There was a group outside because not everyone could fit in the room. So Clay went out there first. All of is in the room could hear him talking to the people outside and everyone was looking out the window. I was so excited; I couldnt wait for him to come in. Finally, he came in. He was wearing jeans and a blue collar shirt. His hair looked so good! It looked like it had already been done for the show so it kind of spiky and had blonde highlights. He look so cute! He went and took a picture with the first couple groups. Then he sat down at the table to sign autographs. The people in the first two groups got their stuff signed and then it was our turn. When I got to the table, he said Hey, Em! Every time I see and he says that, I just feel like I know. Its such a cool feeling to know that he knows my name. Then he said How many shows have you been to now?, and I said 12. He said Youve been to more than me. Lol. He said Why dont you just take over the show for me tonight? I was like Sure. He is so sweet and funny to talk to. Then I told him I was looking forward to his Christmas tour. He said How many are you going to? 50? I just laughed lol. He said Lets see which ones are closest to you? Chicago and Cleveland are pretty close. I told him I was going to Chicago and I really wanted to go to New York. He said Well, New York already sold out. I said Yea, I know but Ill find a ticket online somewhere. Then he said Well, just dont pay too much. I just laughed and said I wont. I had made a sign that says I love you Clay, Emily and so I had him sign that. He signed it Emily, Thanks for your love, Clay Aiken. Then he signed my lei (the one the ladies from Hawaii had given me earlier in the day). He then reached across the table and put it around my neck. I was like so excited, he was so sweet! Then I gave him my present I had bought for him and a note I write him. After that, he came over to take a picture with me and my sister. He said So, what should we do this time, Em? Then he said How about I sit on your lap? I said Sure! So he sat on my lap and I put my arm around his waist. Then they took the picture. He didnt have all of his weight on me because he was sort of leaning against the piano. Well, the piano started rolling and he couldnt get up. Then he said I think Im stuck. I was thinking in my head Thats fine; you can sit on my lap as long as you want! Lol. Then Jerome came to help him up and so he finally got up. Then he had to go because there were more groups waiting for him. So finally, we had to leave. I didnt want to, though, I wanted to stay in that room with him forever. Hehe. He is just so incredibly sweet and cute! And I just love him so much!
